Rafee Uddin Mahmud, an architect by profession, sees his art as a medium for meditation that circumvents extreme emotion. Maneuvering his way through his desire to paint, the Bangladesh university of engineering and technology (BUET) graduate has been the recipient of numerous national and international awards, the lockdown caused by the pandemic worked as a catalyst for reentering the field of interest for the artist. Since then he has been painting on mostly large canvases in acrylic media.
